You say Hedge Apple, I say Osage Orange...

This website and several others are dedicated to the hedge apple, aka hedgeapple, aka osage orange. It is an inedible, green fruit from the osage orange tree, aka bow wood tree, aka bodark tree. Apparently the hedge apple's only purpose in life is to propogate the multi-named tree and to be dried & used for decoration, where it can allegedly ward off insects. But even Martha Stewart has mentioned using the hedge apple as a decoration.

Bad Emmys fashion - a preview

Elisha Cuthbert. Gorgeous woman, decent actress. Appears as "object of desire" in multiple films, including The Girl Next Door, and hottie on '24'. And prime example of bad, bad Emmy fashion:

"My skirt's too long for my heels, my boobs are too small for this dress, my strapless gown is showing my bikini top tan lines and there's no spray-on tanner around so what should I do?"

And in Elisha's world, the answer is, "Ah yes - I'll throw on an old, used-looking flesh-paneled CORSET over the dress. That will make me look FABULOUS!"

Because, you know what the fashion rules say, what goes best with pearls? Ah yes... a corset made of flesh paneling material...

The Scissorhands Vera Wang ensemble is actually from the SPRING 2005 collection - which means Vera ran off the rails even earlier than we thought!

Vera we hardly knew ye, witness this gem: An English schoolboy's blazer, shrunken by being thrown into a too-hot dryer by a careless nanny, tied with a very sad and limp ribbon, and paired with a skirt that was apparently sewn from burlap feed sacks at the Atelier Edward Scissorhands.
